A little taste of New York...

A little taste of New York Fashion Week for you...

Levi’s debuted their Fall / Winter 2012 global collection last week with a quirky runway show celebrating the ritual of getting dressed.

The new range is based on a more refined and tailored look for both men and women, and was portrayed by both models and people cast from the streets of NYC, including a Washington Square Park banjo player who played for the finale.

Pick of the week ....

Doritos and Pepsi Max have come together to create the ultimate fire and ice combo designed to test the endurance of even the most tolerable taste buds.

It’s time to open fire with Doritos ‘Burn’, a fiery and delicious chilli seasoning, warming you up perfectly for a Pepsi Max ‘Ceasefire Lime’ recovery.

Just like a Hollywood marriage, this union of flavours will only be together for a limited time. So it’s time to man up for the collision of the extremes – are you up for the challenge?!

VnC Strawberry Daiquiri Cocktail...

Love is in the air this week. And we're thinking, what better way to share the love on Valentine's Day than to share a VnC Strawberry Daiquiri?

The VnC Cocktails have done all the shaking, stirring, and muddling, so all you need to do is chill, open, pour, and enjoy. Plus, it's made with 100% natural fruit juice, no preservatives, artificial flavours, or any of those nasty additives.

G-Shock & Lower Collaborate...

G-Shock and Lower have released a limited edition collaboration, combining Casio G-Shock’s timekeeping expertise with Lower’s innovative design talents.

The Mount Maunganui based design house have given the world renowned shock resistant watch a face lift with a handmade New Zealand leather cover, inspired by their recent use of leather.

Referencing a classic New Zealand farming watch, the face is protected within a leather case to withstand the rugged farming lifestyle. This concept has been applied to the sturdy stylings of the G-Shock DW-5600 model from 1987 – a refined version of the world’s first G-Shock.

The watch is packaged in a New Zealand made leather case lined with sheep wool and comes with a sheep dog whistle to accentuate the farming theme.

Available for $299 at www.thanksyo.com and selected retailers from Tuesday 31st January

Place a gift...

For the 17th year running, Kmart has teamed up with The Salvation Army to run the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal.

With over 140,000 people in New Zealand requiring the services of The Sallies this year, why not dig deep and give to your fellow Kiwi’s in need?

In every Kmart store around the country you will find a Kmart Wishing Tree. Here, you can place a gift for The Sallies to distribute this Christmas to families in need. Your gift can be from anywhere, and for anyone. Just grab a tag off the Wishing Tree at your nearest Kmart, tick the box for who your present most suits, and place it under the tree - the more the merrier!

The appeal kicked off with a touch of flair this year, with a five meter tall white Christmas Tree installed in downtown Auckland. To help get everyone in the mood to make a wish for others, acrobats were suspended from above the tree and took written wishes from passers-by, they then hung the wishes on the tree.

Every Can Counts

This year, with the help of movie goers all around the country, the Wattie’s Cans Food Festival has reached a significant milestone by donating the millionth can to The Salvation Army.

On 9 November, New Zealanders flocked to their local movie theatres to swap a can for a movie ticket. Wattie’s then matched this donation with one of their own cans.  The Festival, now in its 18th year, provides essential support for The Salvation Army, stocking up their food banks and assisting The Sallies to help those in need around New Zealand.
